On November 13th 2000, on the 30th anniversary of the band's breakup, the Beatles released the compilation album 11  features singles that reached the top of the UK and US charts during the Beatles' career. The songs were selected by producer George Martin and the three surviving Beatles.

Chart success

 1 was a commercial powerhouse, selling over 31 million copies; making it the best-selling album of the decade worldwide.

On November 19th 2000, the album began an 11-week run at number one on the UK Albums Chart. It reached number one on the US Billboard on December 2nd and once again on December 23rd, for another two weeks.
