Filming: Penny Lane Promo
On February 5th 1967, The Beatles began work on a promotional film for their forthcoming single Penny Lane; a song written by Paul McCartney. The shoot lasted two days and saw The Beatles in a variety of scenes.
In one sequence John, Paul, George and Ringo were filmed on horseback, at Knole Park in Sevenoaks, Kent, where some of the Strawberry Fields Forever promo was also filmed. The scene of John Lennon walking alone was shot on King's Road in Chelsea.
The Penny Lane promo film was later selected by New York's Museum of Modern Art as one of the most influential promotional music films of the late 60s.
