John Lennon returns his MBE

The Beatles received MBEs from the Queen on October 26th 1965, for their contribution to music.

On November 25th 1969, John Lennon returned his MBE medal to Buckingham Palace, in protest over the Vietnam War. His chauffeur Les Anthony also delivered handwritten letters to the Queen and the Prime Minister.
