John Lennon recieves his Green Card

After a lengthy four year legal battle, John Lennon finally received his Green Card, allowing him permanent residency in the US, on July 27th 1976.

Due to the ex-Beatle's political activism he found himself at odds with the Nixon administration; Lennon always maintained his phone was wire-tapped by the FBI because of his association with left-wing political figures and anti-Vietnam protestations.

Lennon would live out his remaining four years in the Dakota building with Yoko until his murder on December 8th, 1980.
