Filming: I Am the Walrus

On September 23rd 1967, the Beatles continued filming Magical Mystery Tour; having shot the ticket scene on the 22nd.

On this day the group and cast were at the West Malling Air Station in Maidstone, Kent. While there they filmed one of the most iconic scenes in the film; the Beatles performed I Am the Walrus.

It was a mimed performance but a memorable piece in the film nonetheless. The band and a handful of extras dressed in a variety of wacky disguises including animals, egg-men and policemen.

The song itself was previously recorded on September 5th.
