US album release: Magical Mysery Tour
On November 27th 1967, the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour album was released in the US. In the UK the Beatles released a double EP with six tracks from the Magical Mystery Tour film. But the decision was made to release a full length album for the US market, which also included singles from that year.
In 1987 when Magical Mystery Tour was released on compact disc, the American version became the worldwide standard.
