The Beatles in Central Park
On the morning of February 8th 1964, The Beatles held a press conference at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. After this they took a stroll around Central Park in New York City for a press shoot, accompanied by a police escort and photographers.
George was suffering from streptococcal throat and remained at the Plaza Hotel with his sister Louise. John, Paul and Ringo were followed by over 400 female fans everywhere they went.
Later that day the band rehearsed for their upcoming performance on the Ed Sullivan Show. The doctor at the hotel advised George that he wouldn't be able to perform as his temperature was 104. But his sister Louise administered his medicine on the hour to get him back to health.
Below is a collection of photographs taken on the day.
