Song facts: Yes It Is
Yes It Is was written by John Lennon in 1965 and first released as a B-side on their Ticket to Ride single. It features complicated three part harmonies from John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison, much the same as This Boy.
In a 1980 interview for PlayBoy Lennon didn't speak very highly of the song but McCartney has described it as a very fine song of John's.
The Beatles recorded Yes It Is on February 16th 1965, during a five hour session at Abbey Road. 14 takes for the song's rhythm track were recorded before the band were happy with the result; more takes than any other Beatles' song recorded in 1965.
